OT 323 Course at a Glance (2025)
Poetry & Wisdom
Lectures By: Dr. Iain Duguid
2 Credits
Course Description
In this course, we will examine the poetry and wisdom texts from the Old Testament to form an appreciation of how God has chosen to communicate to us in His Word. Through this course, students will understand what it means to become God’s people who desire to know him personally, love him, and glorify him forever. Poetry is an ideal vehicle for this task. These love letters serve far better in praising God rather than a series of propositional statements. We will examine the serious theology underlying the poetry and wisdom texts. Throughout this course, special emphasis will be placed on the role of Gospel-centered application that allows for serious academic knowledge to find value in proper application.
