Accessing Provided Digital Readings
In the Course at a Glance and Syllabus, some of the required readings are entire books marked as provided digitally through the Library or in Canvas. Here is a quick guide on finding those resources:
If the reading is in Canvas
Readings provided within Canvas are usually articles or sections of books and located in the weekly module. If readings are not found in the weekly module, then check the Course Introduction module or "Files" (from the left-hand menu).
If the reading is provided by the library
Resources provided through library normally fall into two categories:
- eBook directly available through the WTS Library (via EBSCOhost)
- Atla E-Book
You can access these resources by going to the Library home page.
Scroll to the middle of the page and search for the resource using the "Search All Westminster Library Resources" shown below:
WTS Library eBooks (via EBSCO eBook)
WTS Library ebooks will display like this:

Choose one of the options (PDF Full Text recommended) highlighted in the red box (upper, left side).
Generally, eBooks available directly through the WTS Library (via EBSCO) are available immediately.
Atla E-Book
Atla eBooks will display like the following
(direct link to text: Bavinck's Reformed Dogmatics, Vol 2: God and Creation (John Bolt)):
You will have access to the resource for 14 days at a time.
Click on the link for the e-book at the bottom of the page:
If the resource is not immediately available, then you will have place a hold by clicking on "Place a Hold":
To reserve/access the resource, you will be required to log into Atla.
Find Westminster Theological Seminary for the Library field. The Barcode is your WTS Student ID (found in Populi). Enter your last name. If you are placing a hold on the resource, then you will receive an email notification through your WTS student email.
Please note the "Username/library card number" and "Password" fields update to "Barcode" and "Last name" (it is essential that you capitalize the first letter of your last name) when you choose Westminster Theological Seminary as the library.
