The Montgomery Library offers eBooks and full text databases to support coursework and research. During fall 2020 all of our eBooks and most of our databases will be accessible on one platform, but until then, here are some instructions on how to get started:

Set up for eBook reading
Many of our eBooks can be read in your browser, but if you want to download them, you will need to install a supported eBook reader.
We recommend Adobe Digital Editions. Register for an Adobe ID to authorize eBooks on multiple devices.


Find your eBook
All of WTS’s eBooks are listed in the WTS Library Catalog, although the eBooks themselves are hosted on different external platforms.

For example, a search for Mark Noll’s A History of Christianity in the United States and Canada will return this record.


Click on the link which says “View e-book after authorizing all devices". You will then be taken directly to the platform where the book can be read or downloaded. In some cases, you will be asked to login to the platform with your last name and WTS ID number (be sure to capitalize the first letter of your last name).

If the eBooks are hosted on Theologicalebooks.org you will need to login to the website with your WTS ID (barcode) number and last name. Be sure to choose Westminster Theological Seminary from the Library menu (also capitalize the first letter of your last name).

Access Research Databases

The Library also offers a number of research databases, some of which provide full text. All of these may be accessed from the Library’s Databases page. If you are not on campus, be sure to select the “off campus access” link for the database you want to search. When you do this, you will be prompted to login with your last name and WTS ID number.
